hello, everyone! :D it's that time of year again...
a couple years ago, i figured that a friending fest would be an excellent way to keep the Yuletide/obscure fandom love going strong. we all need a little extra holiday cheer, don't we? therefore, if you're interested in meeting people in the same teeny-tiny fandoms, pimping out your own stories for a little extra love, and making new friends for the new year, just comment below with the following!

fandoms: thus far, i've written in HP, Good Omens, Guy Gavriel Kay, His Dark Materials, Robin McKinley, Saiyuki, Kyou Kara Maou, Wild Adapter, Stigma, Shounen Onmyouji, and Tamora Pierce fandoms. i'm also a fan of David Eddings, Diana Wynne Jones, Garth Nix, Gravitation, Loveless, and many, many other things (a fuller list of fandoms can be found here). i'll read anything i know, even vaguely (House, Dexter, Ocean's 11, etc.), and several things i don't (Supernatural, SGA).
Yuletide years: 3! :)
i wrote: this year, i wrote like a whole almond (Wild Adapter) and piece of sky (Stigma).
last year, i wrote Aurora Borealis (His Dark Materials), Flowerfire: Winter's End (Fionavar Tapestry), a tale of first meetings (Damar), Letters from Rajmuat (Tamora Pierce- Tortall series), a solitary blue (Fionavar), and touch (Shounen Onmyouji).
in 2006, which was my first Yuletide, i wrote love, do you remember my name (Fionavar), as well as a gift-fic for Yuletiders in the Fionavar-verse, The Longest Road, which is posted here.
journaling habits: depending on my mood, you'll come across fandom or RL. the RL stuff is under f-lock, but my writing/fandom stuff is public.
hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: i love books (obviously), anything art-and-music related, travel, badminton, tea, and DANCE (ballroom, bhangra, and many other kinds), although most of my flailing on LJ is about the first two things.

Date: 2009-01-02 04:57 pm (UTC)Fandoms: ...Uh. Lots. The Mentalist, Supernatural, CSI: NY, The Dresden Files, Criminal Minds, The Covenant, Babylon 5, Akira, Farscape, Joss Whedon, Rome, Carnivale, Deadwood, Kushiel series, Laurell K Hamilton's Fairy Porn... The list goes on.
Yuletide Years: 3, I think
I wrote: A lot. here (http://kittydesade.livejournal.com/551375.html) is the list! Echo Location in The Cell, The Midnight Coalition in Akira, and a bunch of Mentalist fic for Treats because I was bored at work.
Journaling habits: These days (as a recent development of courtesan school) I post my daily practice of Russian, German, and my daily Tarot study every weekday. And usually appended to the languages are random bits. And I post about my life pretty often. I friends-lock almost nothing. My life is not that interesting and ... yeah. The only thing I really friends-lock is really private stuff and original writing I want to keep for copyright porpoises.
Hobbies/Interests/Anything else: I'm a linguaphile, I speak English, Spanish, French, a smattering of Japanese, and am currently (as said above) studying Russian and German and possibly eventually helping tutor people in Spanish and French. I love dance (ballet/modern and bellydance at the moment, I also participate in English Country dance twice a month), handicrafts, writing. I've published a few short stories and am working on finishing my second major get-a-novel-published project. Um. I live in hippieville.

The Arséne Lupin series
The Fantômas series
Sherlock Holmes
Princess Tutu
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasies 4 and 6
Earthbound

Exalted
The Great Mouse Detective
In general I like turn-of-the-century detective/adventure series and pulp (especially if they involve criminals), old video games, and some anime. There is also a lot of stuff I like but have not written, which consists mostly of YA fantasy
Right now I write a hell of a lot of FF4 fanfic, and am working on some stuff in the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom.

Journaling Habits: Most of it is unlocked; for a long time my fanfiction was under a "fanfiction friends" filter, but lately I have started posting stuff in my fic journal,
Interests: YA fantasy, pulp, steampunk, tabletop roleplaying (my favorites are Exalted, Unknown Armies, Spirit of the Century, and Weapons of the Gods), game design and theory, drawing, jewelry-making, video games (I play WoW and TF2!), horror movies and manga, coffee and tea, rats, bunnies.

journaling habits: At present, fannish squee and RL frustrations (what do you do with a B.A. in English, especially in this economy?). Sometimes I post a lot, other times I'll got for a week or more without updating my main account. (Usually, in those cases, I'm posting fic or RPing. Said RPing tends toward the panfandom.)
hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: I'm an avid reader, I listen to all kinds of music and wish I had the funds for a concert (seriously, I haven't been to one since August!), and I'm hoping to get my original stuff published. Fandoms: Too many to sanely list in this comment, but if you click here (http://irisbleufic.livejournal.com/51709.html), they're listed (as fic-tags) for your convenience! My primary ones, though, are Good Omens, Hot Fuzz, Toy Soldiers, Everything Is Illuminated, and a handful of obscure medieval epics.
Yuletide years: 2008 was my fourth!
I wrote: In 2005, I wrote Hunters (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/15/hunters.html) as a New Year's Resolution in order to become eligible to participate for the first time - and the story I wrote that year in the Exchange proper is Men Well Met (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/15/menwell.html). In 2006, I wrote The Listening Game (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/21/thelistening.html), and in 2007, for the same fandom, I wrote Some Small Town, One Different Summer (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/36/somesmall.html). Finally, in 2008, I wrote Tokens of Affection (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/60/tokensof.html). The archive seems to think I also wrote two Gundam Wing stories, but those are NOT, in fact, mine. They appear to belong to an Adrienne who hasn't participated for some time now!
Journaling habits: I update fairly regularly, with both fic and meta-commentary. There's occasional RL intrusion, but not much - that's what my other account is for (and that's info I only broadcast locked to my flist).
Hobbies/interests/anything else: I'm an insomniac graduate student. I love good food and excellent wine. I'm obsessive to a fault, but it's proved to be a useful survival skill. Oh, and I like shiny things. A lot.

journaling habits: Just about everything, which is why I have a lot of filters! If I need to use my journal to vent, it's filtered down to my closest friends, so people who don't care don't have to see it. General life (I'm going to be studying abroad in Japan in March, so probably some crazy stories/pictures from that) and fandom posts are the most common, and writing posts are fairly regular, as well. Those writing posts are usually original fic, but sometimes fanfic. And sometimes I do drabble requests, although finishing them is another matter...
hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: I love to read and write, and I'm an East Asian studies major and third year Japanese language student, so I love to babble about those kinds of things on occasion.

journaling habits: I try to keep this one mostly fandom-related but since I don't have as much time for fandom anymore, there's RL-related stuff in f-locked posts.
hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: I do lots of art & design & photography but not fandom-related; it's what I'm majoring in. um, I like to sew and cook and dance.

fandoms: For general fangirling too many to name, but for those I've written in (outside of yuletide): Veronica Mars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Friday Night Lights, Grey's Anatomy, General Hospital and BtVS/Angel.
Yuletide years: 2 (2007 & 2008)
i wrote: Halfway Enough (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/36/halfwayenough.html) (2007, Friends) and The Long Day Is Over (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/69/thelong.html) (2008, Friday Night Lights). I received One Two Many (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/44/onetwo.html) (2007, Empire Records) and Heaven (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/75/heaven.html) (2008, Closer). And for the record, I've also offered/requested: Lisa Kleypas' Wallflower series, Dazed & Confused, My So-Called Life, Last of the Mohicans, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, The Outsiders, and The Family Stone.
journaling habits: I'd say about 80% fannish, but I'm starting to get more into real life talky too. It's a public journal, pretty much come one, come all. I don't think I've ever de-friended anyone, I'm pretty laid back. I tend to like unusual characters and ships, and I love a good debate and thinky conversation. :) One thing I should add though, I'm not very big on slash. I've written a few femslash pieces but it's not really a big interest of mine. (As always, love to discuss.)
hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: If you friend me, you'll catch my sometimes utterly incoherent fangirling, probably be amused by my tendencies to make up my own ships regardless of canon, and hear all about my dating woes and what it's like to be a single, mid-20's Italian-American girl trying to make it on her own. Can't wait to meet you!

Date: 2009-01-02 07:44 pm (UTC)fandoms: Ha. As of Yuletide 2008, I have written at least one story in each of the following fandoms: Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, The Lost Boys, The Mighty Ducks, X-Men movieverse, Harry Potter movieverse and bookverse, Ultimate X-Men, The Fast and the Furious, Pitch Black/The Chronicles of Riddick, Mean Girls, Bend It Like Beckham, Lost, Firefly/Serenity, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Supernatural, Circle of Magic, Dog Soldiers, Dead Witch Walking, The Baby-Sitters Club/California Diaries, Full House, Blue Crush, Girlfight, Resident Evil, Dawson's Creek, Bring It On, The Breed, Making Out, Lilo & Stitch, Stick It, She's the Man, One Tree Hill, Pirates of the Caribbean, Twilight, Jurassic Park, Southern Vampire series.
I used to call The Lost Boys my main fandom, but I think, after analyzing last year's fic output (forty stories, not counting Yuletide 2008 stories), that's no longer true. My real main fandom is either crossovers or apocalyptic fic.
Yuletide years: This was my fourth year.

journaling habits: Mostly fandom and fanfic. I'm in law school and sometimes go quiet for weeks, but have been doing better at posting more now that I'm halfway done.
hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: I've committed to writing 350K words this year. Mostly not fanfic, but at least some of it will be fic. I love motorcycles, bass guitars, and gaming. I love the legal work I've done, but hate the classwork.

My first fandom was the original Star Trek, with which I became obsessed in 1986 at age 12; after that it was the X-Files, then due South, and after that all bets were off. hobbies/interests/anything else you'd like to add: My overall hobby is that I collect stories, and use what I collect to study the art and science of storytelling. Sadly, this has not yet made me a particularly good writer; in the same vein, I have almost-perfect pitch, but not enough vocal technique to sing notes as accurately as I hear them. But I sing well enough to get into choir groups where I'm surrounded by more skilled singers I can learn from. And I write well enough to not be afraid to participate in the occasional fiction community where I get amazingly helpful feedback. I can live with that. :)
