I couldn't sleep last night, but this morning, as President Obama said, the sun rose again. My heart is heavy, but if there was ever a moment for generosity: this is it.

It's been pretty shitty, and I'm not even an American. I just live here, and have a life here, and pay taxes. /half bitter But the wheel turns and life will go on.

It makes me want to come home and join all my friends who are out there, doing the work in the face of everything. But I chose grad school, and so I will do my work and hope that I can shape it into usefulness.
