runaway booklog

Continuing to booklog as opposed to properly bookblogging. Aside from being a fast reader, my rate of consumption is correlated to my job hunt frustration is correlated to my lack of critical/thinking brain! ^^;
Items read since my last book post:
Agatha Christie binge, part 1:
+ The Regatta Mystery and Other Stories
+ The Thirteen Problems (reread)
+ Appointment with Death
+ The Clocks
+ Towards Zero
+ Cards on the Table
+ The Mysterious Mr. Quin
+ Taken at the Flood
+ Ordeal by Innocence (reread)
+ The Best of All Possible Worlds, Karen Lord: I quite loved this! It is... basically delightful Star Trek fanfic in novel form, heh. Lord's worldbuilding was much more interesting to me than actual Trek-verse is, and I mean that as an impressed-with-her-skill statement, not a not-the-biggest-Trek-fan disclaimer (though the latter is also true). Also I found the relationship development between Dllenakh and Delarua truly heartwarming. :>
Anne McCaffrey rereads (library nostalgia-induced, not without eyerolls/lulz):
+ The Rowan
+ Damia's Children
+ The Tower and the Hive
+ Freedom's Landing
+ Freedom's Choice
+ Freedom's Challenge
+ Freedom's Ransom
Agatha Christie part 2:
+ The Under Dog and Other Stories
+ The Witness for the Prosecution and Other Stories
+ Three Act Tragedy
+ The Body in the Library
The manga/graphic novel streak:
+ Mushishi, v.3: Another refresher/anime comparison impulse, heh.
+ Bayou, v.1: I've read it as a webcomic, of course, but there's nothing quite like seeing all that terrible gorgeousness on paper. ♥ Trying to borrow volume 2!
+ Darker than Black: Definitely diverges from season 1 of the anime! It's interesting, but I'm not sure I like it as much.
+ Kamisama Kiss (aka Kamisama Hajimemashita), v.1-9: Have I mentioned this manga/anime and how I adore it before? Basically the story starts like this: Momozono Nanami's father runs out on her after accruing massive gambling debts, and she leaves her house only to run into the tochigami Mikage, who transfers his divine powers to her... leaving her to take over his place at the local shrine. Enter cranky kitsune Tomoe, who's been taking care of the shrine Mikage abandoned, and is horrified that a human girl is taking over his beloved master's place.
Agatha Christie part 3:
+ Sleeping Murder (reread)
+ Five Little Pigs
+ Hercule Poirot's Christmas
And finally, I started reading some Georgette Heyer:
+ The Grand Sophy: I remember someone on DW (
troisroyaumes, maybe?) mentioning this one and so picked it up! Basically SOPHY IS THE BEST, HER PLOTS ARE THE BEST, INCOHERENT GLEE EVERYWHERE OMG. Also Sophy/Charles Rivenhall is perfect and makes me laugh and laugh. ♥_______♥
+ April Lady: I'm sure this one suffered a bit for being read second, though Nell isn't a character type I have much patience for (too dithery!). Still entertaining, if somewhat frustrating to read.
