Foodporn, as promised: homemade 獅子頭 with napa cabbage, whole chicken, spinach & mustard greens with tomatoes marinated in 酸梅 juice, whole fried fish & homemade dumplings (pork/mustard greens: variation of AWESOME), and 烏魚子. :3


Also, in fannishly celebratory news, yay Lunar New Year Exchange fanworks being posted at white_lotus! I'm definitely looking forward to all the shinies. :) How were your celebrations?

Pictures don't seem to be loading for me, but just thinking of homemade dumplings has me wistful and happy for you! And although I tend not to eat the result, stirring the mix for lion's head (chicken! that sounds appetizing; ours have always been done with porn PORK) is so mesmerizingly fun.

Happy new year! The food looks amazing. We didn't do anything, but R always calls some of the older Chinese women in her life--some old friends and relatives. We don't have a lot of contact with our families, so I'm glad she does that. M.
