For you, because I felt it was appropriate to your post of bibliophilia the other day:
An Afternoon in the Stacks
Closing the book, I find I have left my head
inside. It is dark in here, but the chapters open
their beautiful spaces and give a rustling sound,
words adjusting themselves to their meaning.
Long passages open at successive pages. An echo,
continuous from the title onward, hums
behind me. From in here, the world looms,
a jungle redeemed by these linked sentences
carved out when an author traveled and a reader
kept the way open. When this book ends
I will pull it inside-out like a sock
and throw it back in the library. But the rumor
of it will haunt all that follows in my life.
A candleflame in Tibet leans when I move.

In other news, I've just written several hundred words for a Morgana/Gwen
merlin_ficathon prompt! (It's turning out to be more Morgana-centric, though.) This is new and exciting territory; would anyone like to beta-read when it's finished?

No rush or anything, because I know lots of ficathons are going on, but hmm, hmm. There hasn't been much R/S fic around lately, and I still haven't finished Merlin (eep), so if you have any more little R/S snippets floating around in your head, I would love one of those!
Also, I can beta! Like I said, my Merlin-watching is going very slowly, so I could read only for flow, wording, etc. rather than characterisation, but if that's okay send it over.

Date: 2009-04-14 07:28 pm (UTC)yay! will send it over when i finish poking at it. it isn't episode-based, so it shouldn't be particularly spoilery or affect your watching all that much. &hearts
