-- so yesterday was rather full of win; I did bo ssam (OH DELICIOUS FOODGASM) with the usual suspects +4, followed by a liiiittle bit of Max Brenner and Pinkberry and lazing about in Central Park (foodies ftw, fuck yes &hearts) and then I spent a lovely three hours in the Columbus Circle Borders reading:

1. N.K. Jemisin's The Broken Kingdoms, which I promptly bought because HOLY SHIT SO FULL OF WIN I CANNOT EVEN!!!! ASD:LFKSJDGL:KHSDFJLS:LDK *\o/* *\o/*

2. the first volume of a delicious new manga discovery, The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service/黒鷺死体宅配便! Which is about five Buddhist students who start a business settling accounts for the dead, and it is HOMG SO SO AMAZING but uh, possibly not for the faint of heart/weak of stomach. Which, okay, usually includes me, but apparently not in manga format? 0.o ANYWAY. If you like horror (*eyes inkstone & sarashina*) there's a good chance you will enjoy it! Of course the caveat is that I've only finished the first volume, but I totally plan on returning to binge the other 14 or so that I saw, so if you would like to wait for a more complete verdict, I will get there... eventually? *g*

3. Nabari no Ou, volume 1! &hearts I didn't get to finish watching the anime, so I was delighted to see it on the shelf & reacquaint myself with the beginning of things. Miharu: STILL MY FAVORITE. So delightfully deadpan! I love his indifferent little faaaaace, zomg, the sneaky manipulative little bastard. :3

AND THEN. I WENT TO THIS. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS HILARIOUS PORNY FUN, THE END. &hearts Hello to all the awesome people I saw/met there, I am sorry I had to run out so early, I hope y'all managed to properly traumatize the frat-boy-looking crowd by the end of the night! >:D

City Crab on Sunday was fun! but alas, not at all picture-worthy. D: I had my camera, but when the food arrived it just looked so... uninspiring, even if it was pretty tasty: gazpacho with avocado & sour cream & crab meat (mussels for C), Alaskan king crab with sweet potato fries* (crab cakes & rice for C), summer berries with a dollop of whipped cream & the key lime pie that CM got, which we split between the three of us. Even the desserts weren't that pretty-looking, which I personally do not understand because I think berries are innately pretty! Come on. *sigh* Still, well worth it for all the catching-up time, and I finally managed to give C her pineapple cake from Taiwan! :> &hearts

*The third entree option was twin lobsters, but none of us were hungry enough to eat that much, even though it probably would've been more satisfying... and we totally could've taken it home. /o\ We r smrt!

I watched The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles last night, but for some reason my TV was playing everything an hour behind schedule. 0.o (Is there some sort of fuck-up-able time setting that I'm unaware of?) Still, I didn't exactly mind rewatching last week's Closer on a bigger screen; that was a solid sparkly-hearts-inducing episode of the kind I thought I could only dream about.

The premise of this week's Rizzoli & Isles made me side-eye, but it was actually not as 100% terrible as I was expecting?

I still haven't seen 1x02, nor have I decided whether to keep watching, but. I don't want to be in another Glee place! :( Compartmentalizing is hard.

This morning's break from A:TLA season 2 (which I am now going to finish) consisted of picking eight pounds of strawberries with my sister- twelve, actually, if you count the four pounds my sister's friend picked, but she's taking those home with her. We've already given away a pound or so to a family friend, and we will probably make jam with some of them, but still- I am going to die of strawberry glee! What would you guys do with an overabundance of strawberries, other than eat them fresh for several days running?
