Jan. 21st, 2011 07:59 pmThe deadline for submissions for Potluck is today!! I am extending a ~24 hour grace period, though, as I'll be compiling over the weekend.
-- also, my kitchen smells like this cake! Or rather my modified version: I used lemon and orange zest, just because; almond extract instead of vanilla because I failed to find vanilla while rummaging in the cupboards; and I cut down the sugar to somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 cups on the grounds that I wanted to stir in some honey and/or blueberry syrup instead! Except that- story of my life- my blueberry syrup was half-frozen in the fridge, and my honey was partly crystallized, so I threw up my hands and said fuck it and dumped my shit-ton of blueberries on top. And now I am trying to figure out how to decide when it's done, since I used a tiny oven and lowered the heat so as not to burn it and there are so many blueberries that everywhere I poke a toothpick in, all I get is juice!
