"Mama Says Good Girls Marry Doctors" is an anthology of specifically South and East Asian diasporic women's writing about the issues these women have had with their immigrant parents while growing up in North America. The anthology, spearheaded by Piyali, who is herself a writer and editor, seeks to compile personal stories of South and East Asian women who have been through tough situations with their parents while growing up in North America, especially on topics such as negotiating the choosing of a partner or of a career.
