Have been writing bits and pieces of various fandom commitments in between reading and procrastinatory internet dabbling and epic photo uploading, but still haven't actually finished any of them. *headdesk* So, uh, links! A lot of them.

For different subsets of this nation, it means something entirely different- which I suppose is why setissma's post, as angry and disappointed as it is, still manages to be more hopeful and loving than I can bring myself to be at this moment.

Argggggh, rage, so much rage, at your first set of links.

I will never understand what makes people who were not in NY/DC/PA during 9/11 and had no friends or family affected by the event feel that they have more of a right to claim 9/11 as their personal tragedy more than, say, my Muslim-American friends who were actually in downtown Manhattan on 9/11, who lost loved ones in the World Trade Center, and on top of all that, who had to deal with the resulting Islamophobia to this very day. Just...too much rage.

OMG, SO good. :>

Yeah, I pretty much consider "personal" to be a) families who suffered losses from the attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon, b) people who were living in the communities in question, and c) Muslim-Americans, who have suffered the vitriolic fallout for so many years now. Nowhere on the list is that unbelievable ass of a pastor in Florida, nor any of his hateful ilk!
