I really enjoyed this episode, and I have to say things are definitely a lot darker than the first series.

I'm glad Korra is facing her fears. I can't help, but notice, though, that when Aang would have overwhelming emotional drama in the face of danger it would be "Go Avatar State and flip out" every time, which makes me wonder:

a) Gender ish (they're good at women characters, just... you don't see male characters cry in tv really)
b) CAN Korra go into Avatar state? This may be the reason Aang left hyper protective orders...

I was really surprised she had that flashback! But facing her fears as the first step makes me all *______*

Well, it is the first step and her having a flashback to Aang's time is a sign that it took.

Yes! Was intrigued by the fact that Korra is doing pretty well at the politics games, given Aang's protection orders and the fact that she was always well taken care of. (Also that Tenzin is not, though I give him many props for trying to follow in Aang's footsteps with Katara's temper! and without having the reputations/advantages they did.)

b) I doubt it! I was really surprised she even had that flashback this ep. (GROWN-UP AANG OMG HELLO :D ;;;;;;;;;;)

I really liked her Water Tribe formalwear!

And the flashback was most intriguing.

YES! I've been loving all the outfits everyone's gotten to sport. It's pretty cool to see the different styles and the evolution of their fashion along the way.
