KEYSMASHFDSHAHH.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE INCREASED TECHINESS (AT LEAST, THAT'S WHAT THEY MAKE IT SEEM LIKE) IN KORRA? IT SEEMS KIND OF, I DUNNO, STEAMPUNK. WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON STEAMPUNK? :) :)

I feel that same way about mainstream steampunk! I mean, I do like Victoriana, but I feel steampunk glorifies it in ways that are very uncritical.

BUT SOKKA. Haha, now I have this secret fantasy where Sokka is the architect/mastermind behind Republic City. Like, it's his creation, and he and Suki run everything in the background but only a few people know, and most of the time they disguise themselves as regular people and romp around the streets testing out stuff that Sokka makes.

DO THEY HAVE TO BE AVATAR-RELATED QUESTIONS?

That is SO TRUE, Toph's awesome can only be expressed mathematically.

I keep reading these post-series stories that clearly don't know what to do with Toph, and they're like "... she goes home and becomes a dutiful daughter?" or "she becomes a merchant?" And I'm going, SHE REBUILDS THE WHOLE EARTH KINGDOM OR BUILDS SPACESHIPS OR BECOMES A QUEEN OR TEACHES A WHOLE BATTALION OF EARTHBENDERS HOW TO KICK MORE ASS OR SOMETHING.

What do you feel about Aang's early death (I hear it's b/c he was stuck in an iceberg for 100 years) and do you think everyone else is still alive?

Do you think they're going to go with nature vs. technology as the major conflict in the Legend of Korra and if so, how do you feel about that? :D

LOL, man, I am totally hoping for Katara and Toph to be alive as well. I don't tend to speculate on what will happen cuz I'm weird but now that you've mentioned it, Toph's gotta be some kind of kickass awesome earthbending legend. Anything otherwise would be wrong! And yeah, it would be great if we get to see flashback moments of Katara teaching Korra, if she is in fact the waterbending instructor.

I can't help but wonder if the creators thought about what will happen if there's only 1 airbender left. I mean, it's great that Aang left behind descendants (1 descendant?), but he's one guy. Does that mean in a few more cycles when it comes time for an airbending avatar again, the world will go kaput?

I totally agree re: what you said about the obvious parallel. :) I hope they do a good job because it's so easy to fall flat on one's face by going too far one way or the other (although being something of an environmentalist I am probably going to mind less if they lean a little bit more on the preserve nature side).

I am surprised that the world got so industrialized in only 70 years; I wonder if they will go into what inventions really sped things along, etc..

BUT OH MY GOSH A (non-princess) FEMALE PROTAGONIST IN A US ANIMATION! I want this show to be good so badly!!! (US animation sucks at having girls as protagonists - even Coraline stuck in some random boy at the end to save the day when it should have been all her.-_-)

The dragons could also be, maybe, er - immortal and thus be around even if all the firebenders die? Maybe? That could just be my automatic assumption of "dragons are immortal unless killed" coming into play here.^^;

My personal take on it is that the "original" benders are natural inspirations for the various martial arts/bending styles, so that as long as there are people passing down the bending arts, it won't go away. That's why it's so scary for me that there's not only no airbenders but no inspiration animals either - sky bison. Like, airbending could be recreated if there are still sky bison around, but if not... What then?? So I think my worry is the same as yours!

Also, I have always wondered: is there some genetic element to bending?
