+ Currently debating the white_lotus exchange- I really want to play (and am overdue for a rewatch!), but given all the things I have to accomplish over winter break, I don't know if I'll be able to manage even a treat. :< Also, there's that A:TLA thing I still haven't finished (er, ~2 years later) that I should really get done first!

+ Finally finished watching Natsume S4 yesterday! ALL THE FEELS (and ALL THE CRIES), omg. ♥ Natsume is actually atypical for me in terms of anime- I don't usually go for slice-of-life in things I watch, though I like to read them- but I do so love its themes around chosen family and kindness.

+ Re: other things I've been watching- SAO just got more exciting again?? Or has it just been a while since the ~cliffhanger~ has been sufficiently hang-y?

+ A partial list of my Kuroko ships of glee, for no reason at all: Aomine/Kuroko/Kagami (all permutations), Kiyoshi/Hyuuga/Riko (all permutations), Kise/Kasamatsu, Midorima/Takao, Aomine/Kise, Kise/Kuroko (... maybe more one-sided than not, I really love the canon dynamics xD), Momoi/Riko (RUNNING THE WORLD), everyone/everyone (especially Seirin and Miragen ♥)

Are you watching Sword Art Online?

The first season is amazing, but the second season has me... sketched out with the damsel in distress and multiple rape threats. =(

Yep! & augh, agree, S1 was so much better, though I'm curious about the virtual world construction we're getting in S2. :\

The things I like about S2 - getting to see people play a game as a game, very different than desperately trying to survive, getting to see people in their in-game identity vs. out game identity, the parallel of internet vs. advertising (play the game vs. mind control testing), are what have me holding on, but at the same time, I'm skeeved between the incest crush and the constant reminder of "but you could be raped!" bit... =/

YES to all of this. I'm usually sort of braced for surprise rape culture, but incest crush was just a pile of WHY. Which is kinda funny as it's not like I haven't been okay with incest crushes in other fandoms, but I see no reason for it to exist in SAO! Dragging it on for all these eps just gave me excruciating secondhand embarrassment squick.

SAO basically did this amazing thing in Season 1 where all the premise sounded like it should be some shonen-battle-harem-girl bullshit, and DIDN'T DO IT.

Having it show up suddenly in Season 2 is sketchy as fuck. The incest crush might have worked if it wasn't a "thing" in anime overall, and if they didn't go out of their way to have to highlight "oh, but you're adopted so it's really ok wink wink".

It's like seeing the author's personal issues getting poured onto the table and it's not cute at all.
