recs and books!

+ Fandom things first, because the books will EAT YOUR LIFE:
- Sailing with the Tide by [livejournal.com profile] zephre, aka AGLAIN FANART omg!!! Thank you, Free-for-all, for bringing the awesome. :D
- so many colours it nearly broke my heart (currently anonymous)- Padma and Parvati (and Holi!), quiet and gorgeous. &hearts &hearts

+ A while back, [livejournal.com profile] zahrawithaz pointed me to the Princeton University Press online book sale, open to those in the US and Canada through March 31st, and yesterday I finally got around to browsing through the titles. So many pretties! *____*

Books I caved and ordered:
- Enough to Say It's Far
- Ancient Sichuan: Treasures from a Lost Civilization
- Wages of Violence: Naming and Identity in Post-Colonial Bombay
- The Poetess Counts to 100 and Bows Out
- India Abroad: Diasporic Cultures of Postwar America and England

Books on my consideration list:
- Call it English: The Languages of Jewish-American Literature
- A Tribble's Guide to Space: How to Get to Space and What to Do When You are There
- On Bullshit
- Notes of a Pianist
- The Life of Isamu Noguchi: Journey Without Borders
- In Hora Mortis/Under the Iron of the Moon: Poems
- Here Be Dragons: A Fantastic Bestiary
- Chinese Primer Vols. 1-3
- The Door in the Sky

In conclusion: HELP FRIENDS! I cannot justify buying all the rest of these; I need to be careful of my shelf space and my budget. Which ones would you choose?

I hate you so much right now.

Which is to say, I don't know what I'm buying, but I can't afford all the stuff I want.

I managed to narrow it down to one book that made me jump up and down - Women in Purple, and had a friend add it to his order.
