schneefink asked for my ~5 favorite scenes in Nirvana in Fire/Lang Ya Bang, so naturally I couldn't resist the temptation to rewatch! It's so good that I'll have to subdivide by the overall plot arc, I think. :D Attempting to limit spoilers so I won't go on too long, but here's part 1:

♥ AHHH THAT FIRST SCENE WITH MEI CHANGSU MEETING NIHUANG & THE DOWAGER AT THE PALACE. It was amazing the first time around and pretty much sent me into squealing incoherence on the rewatch, as;dflkaj;sd!

♥ The scene with Jingyan, Mei Changsu, and Nihuang all plotting to get Tingsheng out of the palace, fffffffffff. I OT3 them so hard. (+ Meng = OT4!)

♥ JINGPING AND LIYANG TALKING ABOUT THE WINE, UGH. I love Consort Jingping so much.

♥ General Meng meeting Fei Liu! Truly two of a kind, heee. It's adorable how excited they both get at an actual fight/challenging opponent xD

♥ Nihuang testing Mei Changsu by going to the abandoned Lin house ;______;

interesting! and i agree, especially with nihuang and dowager scene - it's so PAINFUL.

i went with different bits when asked the same, though.

Funny how I tend to pick the heartwrenching ones innit... >.> Other scenes that were just under this list: the fight scene with the three boys vs. Baili, not to mention Nihuang and Mei Changsu arguing over WHO GETS TO TAKE THEM HOME AHHHH; also those scenes with Jingrui and Yujin with Nihuang and Xia Dong because that big sister vibe is ADORABLE. They're both just such good boys. ♥

Haha, I love all of those scenes too! Especially "Mei Changsu being bullied by his household" ahahaha, so accurate. Of course that's not so much a scene as a running theme of the show... xD

Great scenes! It was a bit of an unfair question, there are so many good ones. That scene where you can see Jingyan wonder who the hells this guy is and why he's talking to Tingsheng and talking about getting him out, something Jingyan has wanted to do for years, such a great first meeting :)
