Guys, talk to me about your fandoms? I'm so occupied with school that I find it hard to be remotely coherent when I don't have to be, but I miss fandom talk so much. What have you been reading/watching? What are the tropes and friend/ships you love (or hate)? What makes you squee? What makes you rage? (Also, has anyone else into Kuroko no Basuke managed to solidify shipping preferences through reading fic, or is that just me? >.>)

Will get back to you! I didn't watch anything in November but that's about to chaaaaange.

That said, I found that I like Aomine/Kuroko/Kagami thanks to fic. Still wishing Aomine/Kuroko/Momoi would become a thing though! And while I like Kiyoshi/Hyuuga/Aida, I kind of wish there were Kiyoshi/Aida fics too.

Right now I'm mainly in the foster kitten fandom, but I'm finding time for a bit of fic reading. Mostly Avengers, but I recently enjoyed an astonishingly vicious Sherlock fic by Apiphile, on the thesis that Sherlock and Mycroft's mother was a complete monster. I'm also very slowly working my way through watching Coffee Prince.

I haven't been much in fandom lately except random gen Avengers fic recs, but I finally caught up on Elementary and am really excited! It's not my usual sort of show, but I really like the non-romantic friendship/partnership they're building between Watson and Holmes, and I take great pleasure in Lucy Liu's various unimpressed looks.

I think I'm the only writer for it on AO3 right now. It's a little depressing, but I'll keep going until at least the new year and then...we'll see.

Watching Elementary, catching up with Castle, otherwise...not much.

Honestly? If you haven't been inclined to watch it so far, I say don't put it on a list of "must watch". It's enjoyable, but hardly very deep. Eye candy, a fun couple of hours, and the fandom is active (which is rather nice from a writing-to-get-readers perspective, although, as per usual, the fandom is not active in any area that I particularly feel driven to read).

Also, I love the characters in their own right, but the movie is very very geared to the white male audience, and it took two viewings before I fell in love with Maria Hill. And Maria is pretty much my sole 'in' to the fandom.

If you happen to have the time and nothing better to do, then yes, I'd say watch it just to get it out of the way. But it's about as cheerfully shallow as a rainpuddle that one can have great fun splashing in, with no deeper meaning beyond what you want to put into it.

Elementary!! I watched for Lucy Liu, and then was pleasantly surprised by not hating Holmes and his white dudeness? Or, like, I like that the show is not letting his genius excuse his bad behavior and is showing Watson as an equal/brilliant in other ways. Plus Holmes sincerely apologizes to her (and other people) when he crosses boundaries and such. And Watson! Still treated as a person!! Amazing! This shouldn't be as novel as it is.

Stuff that makes me rage re this fandom are when people are WRONG about the show (mostly about Liu/Watson).

And, um, Go On, a sitcom, because John Cho is on it. The first few eps are faily, but then it had some endearing moments. And while the main character isn't as horrible as he could be, I keep wishing it starred anyone but a white dude. (I find it more watchable than Community, so far.)

Speaking of which, The Mindy Project makes me kind of tired and ragey, because it is SUPER white gazey and I think has no plans of changing that, despite (or maybe BECAUSE of) Mindy Kaling's involvement.

Oh! And SCANDAL. I'm a few eps behind because I HATE Fitz. But Olivia! I ♥ her. But Fitz is so terrible, and the show wants us to see him as all romantic and tortured, and ugh. He's basically single-handedly ruining the show for me.

And I'm torn between wanting Allegiance to have a bigger fandom, because I want to see all the meta and fanworks about the themes in the musical, and not, because then the potential for fail is smaller?

I think that and Elementary should be next up on my list of things to watch when I'm in a TV mood (am finding that TV takes me more energy than anime these days, probably a function of episode length and too many things geared toward white audiences). Also, I really really want to see Allegiance omg.

I am having a resurgence of bitterness re. Merlin actually, now it's been announced that this will be the last season and all the wasted potential has just overwhelmed again. Woe!
