Making a note of my tiny political behaviors as [personal profile] rydra_wong suggested! Being registered in a blue county in a blue state, and having already submitted my absentee midterm ballot, I tossed a small donation to ActBlue's #GrabYourBallot list a few days back. This one includes Heidi Heitkamp and Beto O'Rourke. Other candidates whose blurbs caught my eye are Kyrsten Sinema (senate race) and Paulette Jordan (governor).

Any particular candidates/races on your radar? I'd appreciate hearing about them if there are; it makes a nice change from my sporadic Twitter- and headline-skimming.

NY 27: Chris Collins (R-under federal indictment for securities fraud) vs. Nate McMurray (D-not under federal indictment for securities fraud). That chunk of Western New York has a deep red streak, so it's no surprise that the race is as close as it is -- thanks to being an incumbent and a Trump-nugget, Collins still manages to be in the lead even though he really should be wearing an orange jumpsuit. I'll be thrilled if McMurray wins, but I'm not holding my breath.

I am super excited about Beto! I am so sick of being stuck with Cruz. Also, our US rep is looking likely to flip; the DNC poured quite a bit of money into Lizzie Pannill Fletcher's campaign, and she's polling pretty well. I have a lot less hope for our gubernatorial race, though our lieutenant gubernatorial race could maybe go somewhere.

I want to add one particular Senate candidate to your list of people to send some cash to if you can (and to mention to other people, even if you can't): Mike Espy, who's running for the Senate as a Democrat in Mississippi. Yes, Mississippi, and he has a very credible chance at actually pulling it out, especially if he gets money now--since it's a special, the election will be held in December.

And he has Doug Jones's media strategist working for him, and a possibly-split Republican vote ...
