Still not really here, but since I came into work and saw the tsunami and earthquake in Japan on my newsfeed... is everybody okay??

(Also, if anybody knows/has seen newsbits on how things are going in Taiwan right now, I'd really appreciate some links; today is going to be pretty swamped & I won't be able to check in with the family until I get home.)

Saw something like half an hour ago on CNN about how the tsunami didn't hit Taiwan (or the Philippines) very hard, no reported damage. Though my dad texted me and said they're on alert for another tsunami warning? (in the Philippines, though.)

I stopped looking at the pictures. :\ They are... well, useful for documentation, I suppose, but the disaster-porn aspect of some of the reporting just makes me cringe (hence my sticking to twitter/tumblr for updates, mostly).

Oh my goodness. What a day at the embassy. Managed to get in touch with everyone I know over there, and my coworkers successfully checked in with their friends/family too.
